Wait. Me, A Mentor? [INTERPRETER]

Yes, you. Every interpreter, young and old, new and seasoned, strictly k-12 or professional freelancer has something to give to their peers and new counterparts in the field. You don’t need to have years of training in education or mentoring. This course will give you a framework to follow as well as tips, tricks, and tools to use with your mentee as you work together over the course of six months. If you are a good listener, give effective feedback, embody the characteristics that make a good mentor, and can establish and follow strong boundaries, this could be a good fit for you.

You can return to this course at any time to find resources and post questions on the discussion board. There will be several activities that require your attention as your move through the course, and records of your work with your mentee will be saved in the course, allowing you to refer back to them if needed, but this course is designed to assist you in becoming a more effective mentor and to provide you support. It is not meant to add a burden to your daily life. You will move through this course at your own pace, and you and your mentee will decide together the best timeline for each required activity.
