The Requirements [STUDENT/INTERPRETER]

Mentors are allowed to work with up to three mentees at a time, and mentees can work with up to three mentors at a time. The mentee will be allowed to work at one skill level above their current certification, so:

Provisional –>  Basic

Basic –> Advanced

Advanced –> Master

In order to mentor each level, there are requirements the mentor must meet. If you hold a Basic or Advanced certification you must have been certified for at least five years and if you hold a Master certification you must have held that certification for at least three years in order to mentor. Those who hold a NIC certification do not have any length of certification requirements in order to mentor.
