Interpreting for the Next STEP: Positive Parenting Program

This training aims to prepare LAMP staff for interpreting during SSM Next STEP: Positive Parenting Program assignments. During the course, participants learn about the overall program including its goals, structure, and processes. Interpreters will also review key forms and support materials the SSM team will utilize throughout the duration of the program, which are provided in the accompanying training packet.

 

Upon course completion, interpreters will be able to successfully:

• Identify the goals and premise of the Next STEP Positive Parenting Program
• Understand expected outcomes for each of the 4 program sessions and follow-up meeting
• Sight translate the majority of provided Next STEP forms and support materials
• Demonstrate knowledge of program scheduling considerations and timeline
